Miles From Nowhere by Barbara Savage, copyrighted in 1983, is the best book on the planet. I believe everyone should read at least once in their lifetime. I have read this book for approximately 15 years every summer. It has so many messages in it. The book is written so that you feel that you are with the author as she treks all over the globe on her bicycle with her husband and many of their friends who meet them at different places. It is a warm and inspirational book.
The author tells stories about their travels in the United States as well as other countries. On one of her travels, she tells about how she and her husband almost got run over in Florida. She also tells about how the men in Egypt look at her because she is a woman and is riding a bicycle. Something that they had never seen before. She also tells about the time that her husband and she argued and she took off by herself, only to find her husband later and they made up.
There are so many unique stories in this book, that I am unable to list all of them. In fact, it is almost time for me to get the book out and read it again. Aaaaahhh, to sit back and read Miles From Nowhere. Now that is what I really want to do.
