THE HUNGER GAMES by Suzanne Collins

My book review is on The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, the famed author of the Underland Chronicles. I just read it yesterday, and had it to read it again today! It tells the story of a sixteen-year-old girl who lives in a place called District 12. It is like an old-world America, but much more cruel. Every year, one boy and one girl from each of the twelve districts must compete in a "kill-or-be-killed" survival game.
This year, when Katniss's younger sister is picked for the games, Katniss volunteers to take her place. What follows is a gripping story about love, survival, and the importance of doing whatever it takes to make it through life while still staying true to yourself.
This story has everything -- intrigue, deception, spying, adventure, and even a little bit of mind-numbing terror. This story also has some blood, so be careful of letting younger children read it.
I believe that once you start reading this book, you will not be able to put it down. Like me, you will probably stay up all night to finish it.
